In an era where sedentary lifestyles pose a significant threat to public health, the Why Sports Conference emerges as a beacon of change and inspiration.

The primary focus is to bring together individuals who play a direct role or possess significant influence in shaping the current plans for promoting physical activity, sports, health and well-being across the nation.

Why Sports is dedicated to unravelling the intricate links between sedentary habits and the declining health of our nation. By bringing together experts and visionaries from across the healthcare sector, as well as those at the forefront of implementing innovative strategies to promote an active lifestyle, the conference aims to spark a movement towards a healthier, more vibrant society. This conference will provide the perfect setting to explore, debate and advance the ambitious goals laid out in the Get Active - A Strategy for the Future of Sport and Physical Activity document, a critical initiative released by the central government and supported by the Physical Activity Task Force.

Conference Objectives:

In-Depth Exploration: Delve into the multifaceted relationship between sedentary behaviour and declining health. Through comprehensive discussions, speakers will explore the scientific, psychological and societal aspects of this critical issue.

Cross-Sector Collaboration: Fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders is at the heart of the Why Sports 2024 Conference. Delegates from healthcare, fitness, government and community organisations will converge to share insights, best practices and success stories.

Innovation and Solutions: The conference is not just a platform for discussion but a catalyst for change. Attendees will gain access to cutting-edge research, pioneering programmes and fresh ideas aimed at promoting physical activity in novel and effective ways.

Themed Sessions: The conference agenda is carefully crafted to share the latest government initiatives, investment and delivery alongside themed sessions that cover a spectrum of topics that will help shape the health of the nation.

Knowledge Sharing: Renowned experts and thought leaders will present their findings and experiences, providing attendees with a wealth of knowledge to inform their work. Interactive Q&A sessions and panel discussions will encourage a dynamic exchange of ideas.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded professionals, potential collaborators and influencers who share a passion for addressing the challenges posed by sedentary lifestyles. Networking breaks are designed to encourage business development and facilitate meaningful interactions.
