GREEN GOALS 2026 CONFERENCE

OVERVIEW

Green Goals 2026 Conference

Manchester Conference Centre.  2nd July 2026

Driving Sustainability Across Sport and Physical Activity.

Following the success of the 2025 event, the Green Goals Conference 2026 returns as the leading forum for tackling one of the biggest challenges facing the sports, leisure, and physical activity sector: environmental sustainability.

Climate change is already reshaping the way sport and activity operate. Extreme weather is disrupting participation and events, energy costs are rising, and organisations across the sector are facing growing expectations to reduce their environmental impact. At the same time, sport has a powerful role to play in influencing behaviours, inspiring communities, and driving meaningful environmental change.

The Green Goals Conference brings the sector together at a critical moment.

As Sport England’s Every Move environmental sustainability strategy begins to take effect, organisations across the country are being challenged to rethink how facilities are designed and operated, how events are delivered, and how communities are supported to live more sustainable lives. The scale of the challenge is significant, but so too is the opportunity for sport and physical activity to lead by example.

This conference will provide a vital platform to evaluate progress, share practical solutions, and accelerate sector-wide action.

Bringing together sector leaders, policymakers, facility operators, governing bodies, and innovative private companies, the event will explore how sustainability is being embedded across the industry—from sustainable facility development and energy management to smarter procurement, carbon reduction strategies, and environmentally responsible programming.

More importantly, the conference will focus on collaboration. Addressing the environmental challenge requires coordinated action across the entire ecosystem of sport and physical activity. By sharing knowledge, showcasing innovation, and building partnerships, the sector can move beyond ambition and begin delivering meaningful and measurable change.

The environmental challenges facing sport and physical activity cannot be solved in isolation. They require leadership, collaboration, and a shared commitment to change.

The Green Goals Conference 2026 is where those conversations happen—where the sector comes together to move from ambition to action.

If we are serious about protecting the spaces where communities move, play, and compete, this is a conversation we must have together.

Join the leaders shaping the sustainable future of sport and physical activity.
